SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT & PUBLIC CLEANING

• City cleaning services include garbage collection and disposal, street and drain cleaning, grass cutting and so on. Garbage collection and disposal services are one of the most important functions of MPP.
• As a result of the rapid development and increase in population, garbage collection services are no longer provided entirely by MPP and from 1 November 1998 have been privatized to Alam Flora Sdn Bhd.

SOLID WASTE SEPARATION AT THE SOURCE

• Starting September 1, 2015, all households are required to segregate solid waste at source. The implementation of solid waste segregation at the source based on regulations under the Solid Waste Management and Public Cleansing Act 2007 (act 672) and fully effective in the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, Pahang, Johor, Melaka, Negeri Sembilan, Perlis and Kedah. The main purpose of the implementation of segregation solid waste is caused by :-1. To avoid the disposal of recycled materials2. To reduce the amount of solid waste sent to landfill3. To avoid wasting national money for solid waste management. Separate your solid waste with 3 simple steps, which is to separate according to the type of residual waste, food waste, paper, plastic and other recyclable materials. Keep it temporarily in a suitable container and put it next to the trash can on collection day.
